ALLAMA IQBAL & AHMADIYYA: MIRZA TAHIR AHMAD'S VIEW

Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad with Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad
An anti-Ahmadiyya commentator on our site who claims to be the greatest researcher in Ahmadiyya history and has ordained himself the 'Ahmadiyya Almanac' recently came up with his latest hilarious round of ignorance:
'If any Ahmadi admires Iqbal...they are either in the dark about what he wrote about Ahmadiyyat...or they arent really an Ahmadi at all.' (The Rash, 20th September 2012)
Well, let's see what somebody who actually has knowledge and is a sensible person- and much more than that- has to say on this issue, rather than taking the opinions of someone who apparently has no knowledge of either Ahmadiyya or Pakistan too seriously.
Iqbal has written:
'What was has faded, what is is fading but of these words few can tell the worth, the coming era is nearing, and time is waiting for it' (Sir Muhammad Iqbal, Zamana)
This verse contains deep wisdom. Some Ahmadis believe Iqbal is such a name that even uttering it from our tongues is a sin. This is an appalling idea. Allama Iqbal has written things against the community, however he was a great poet and there is no doubt about this. He is described as a saviour of the Ummah, and in his poetry you can find wisdom.
The Holy Prophet s.a.w. has said that a believer should love wisdom. This is why I am mentioning this subject, because in a country a missionary has been very severe on a friend, just because he praised Allama Iqbal in a meeting of the community. As far as praising Allama Iqbal's poetry goes, they are worthy of praise and it is compulsory on an honest person to have a passion for praising the praiseworthy.
We must never forget that if Allama Iqbal has said something praiseworthy, it is our duty to follow the teachings of The Holy Prophet s.a.w and for us as believers to view them favourably. This is an attribute owned by the believers, that every good thing is used favorably by the believer. Anyhow, the poetry of Iqbal is based on deep wisdom...(Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad, Friday the 13th December 1991)
Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad went on to further discuss and praise the poetry of Iqbal to a great extent, but we think for the purposes of brevity the above passage will do. The aforementioned commentator is so small minded- and in more ways than one- that he will now perhaps claim that Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad was not a true Ahmadi and that none of his followers are true Ahmadis and in fact all the Ahmadis in the world today, who regularly and openly praise the poetry of Iqbal, are all in fact non-Ahmadis etc. etc.

Honestly, we sometimes wonder if there is any point having a refutation site. The anti-Ahmadi's statements are so blatantly devoid of any kind of intellectual merit, thought or intelligence that they actually drive anyone with a modicum of common sense away from their lies and towards Ahmadiyya.

The Lesson of this Refutation
The lesson here is that Ahmadis have a high regard for the truth, even if it is our enemy who is stating it.

It also gives an insight into the ignorant mindset of the anti-Ahmadiyya commentator who left the comment. His belief is that if someone is his enemy, he will never praise them. Instead, this commentator- as is the trademark of anti-Ahmadi leaders- is so deceitful that he will even criticise the praiseworthy actions of people he doesn't like. And we have all been witness in the comments he has left on this site how this person is determined to criticise every action of Ahmadis, regardless of how praiseworthy it is in reality.

On the other hand, it is strange that this person who believes in the principle that no Ahmadi could ever praise someone who criticises Ahmadiyya- and himself claims to be a non-Ahmadi Muslim- is so quick to defend militant atheists. Surely, if he believes no Ahmadi could praise an anti-Ahmadi, he should also have believed that no Muslim- as he claims to be- could praise an Islamaphobe. Yet, when this same person presented a video of Richard Dawkins, who is probably the most prominent God-hating atheist author in the world today, mocking Ahmadiyya and we responded by pointing out that Dawkins is on record as having openly expressed his Islamaphobic views with the statement:
Islam is one of the greatest evils in the world (Richard Dawkins)
our anti-Ahmadi 'Muslim' commentator defended Dawkins with the greatest alacrity imaginable:
You cant call someone a liar simply because that dont follow your religion (The Rash on Richard Dawkins after being presented the above quote)
So The Rash has on the one hand made it clear that it is impossible to even slightly admire the words of someone who does not hold the same beliefs as you and on the very same page has left a comment defending Richard Dawkin's disgusting criticism of Islam. The only conclusion any honest person can draw is that he has a favourable view of Dawkins' statement that, God forbid, 'Islam is one of the greatest evils in the world'.
