Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, praised the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community during Tuesday's meeting with Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifa of Islam.
The Mayor described the charity work of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community as "truly wonderful" and offered his "full support". He also stated he found the speeches of Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad to be "extremely thought provoking".

During the 45 minute meeting, the establishment of world peace, the truly peaceful teachings of Islam and the persecution faced by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in some countries were discussed. The Khalifa was also pleased to note the Mayor's bookshelf contained a copy of the Quran, which had been translated into English by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He also thanked the Mayor and said he hoped the mutual friendship would develop.
