Like, oh my gosh, who does Shaniqua think she is coming in wearing the same dubata as me?!
No, this isn't that kind of diary, but perhaps it would have been a very different perspective on Jalsa Salana UK 2012 if it had been. Instead, Hadhrat Amir-ul-Momineen began proceedings with an inspiring Friday Sermon. In it, he reminded all the Ahmadi Muslim delegates that the purpose of Jalsa is not to gain anything worldly but to search for spiritual reformation. He advised all attendees to pray Tahujjud through the event, to pray Astaghfrullah (asking for forgiveness) and to offer Darood (prayer for The Holy Prophet s.a.w). By doing activities such as these, the Ahmadi Muslims could take full advantage of the three days and truly begin the search to become 'Wali Allah' or friends of Allah. He also requested everyone to pay special attention to cleanliness.
Also, Hadhur announced that yesterday yet another Ahmadi Muslim had been tragically martyred in Pakistan. We would like to humbly present our own attempt at translating the part of the sermon about this man:
On 6th September 2012 Rao Abdul Ghaffar Sahib was martyred. He taught at a school from where he was yesterday returning home. He exited the school with this intention and went to catch a bus when two unknown motorcyclists fired at him. Two bullets struck him, one in his shoulder and the other passed through his skull from which he was instantly martyred inalilahi wainailaihi rajiun.
At the time of martyrdom, this martyr was 42 years old. He had done Wassiyyat in January 2012. He served the community in several positions. He was an extremely sincere Ahmadi and had a noble character and was extremely enthusiastic about preaching. He and his family kept a very close relationship with the Ahmadiyya Community. He had extremely good morals, was very friendly and also prayerful. He had a love for Khilafat. He participated in all the advice of Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih.
In 1995 he was married to Shazia Kulsoom Sahiba. They have had two sons and two daughters. This man and his sister both accepted Ahmadiyya in 1988 after witnessing the result of the mubahala against Zia-ul-Haq. His mother had already accepted Ahmadiyya.
His sister narrates that eight years ago I saw a dream that my brother has been shot and has died. However, when I approach nearer to him I see that he is still alive. Truly, this was an announcement by Allah that this person was destined to attain the rank of martyrdom. 'Do not say they are dead, they are living' (The Holy Qu'ran 2:154/155). In the same way, his daughter and his wife also saw dreams regarding his martyrdom. When his wife told him of this dream, he replied, 'Well if I am martyred, you should not cry'. In the same way, his acquaintances narrate that on this very Sunday he was saying that 'death has to come to everyone, but my desire is that I am given a martyr's death'.
May Allah give this martyr a higher and higher rank. His son is currently studying in Jamia Ahmadiyya. The younger son is fourteen years old. Then there is a ten year old daughter and another six year old daughter.
